Nothing Last

Forever. Eternity. Endless. Infinity. Everlasting.

Do these words ever last? Physically, yes but not when it comes to what they bring in their mean.

People loves to use these words to express their feelings, especially love. "I love you forever", "I want to be with you forever", "My everlasting love…", etc. All these words have the same meaning - "never ending; infinite. Does one person has the age of "infinity" ? Perhaps, these words may not carry the meaning of "infinity" in such sentences, but the time from that moment till the end of the life of that person who say these words. Still, this is not my point for what I want to write.

"XXX and XXX forever"
Some people write their names on their photos. Some people, they vow to their loved ones with that "forever", but in the end, they still ended up going different directions. What happen to their vows then? Will the vow still last? Or begone?

"I love your forever"
Unless, you know you will love him/her till the end of your life. I always doubt the person who speak of this sentence to his/her love. Will that person truly love that one man/woman from the moment he/she said that till the end of his/her life? Or is it just a word, or a sentence used to grab a person’s heart?

How about the aspect of "friendship"?
"Friends Forever"
How many friends, will be your friends forever? There will be very few who stay with you till the end of your life. That’s is what we call true friends. Still, will true friends last forever? Everyone and anyone can quarrel and fight. A small quarrel is fine. A small fight is alright. How about a fight than turned into a murder? Can you ensure you will never quarrel or fight with your true friends? I’ve seen and heard so many cases, where friends whom we thought that will last forever turned out as rivals, some even get killed by their "true friends". Not killed in the body, but killed in the heart and soul. Misery.
Be blessed you have friends who walk with you right now, don’t ask for returns, but give as much as you can, for the moment counts.

Sibblings.
"Brothers and sisters"
Perhaps, the bond between sibblings is the strongest among all relationships but not everyone has sibblings. You might have a brother or a sister with you. You might share the good relationship for a start and you might not. You may have the time when sibblings are good together, you may also have the time when sibblings are rivals or enemies. When sibblings turn into rivals or enemies, will they still get back together in the end? Some yes, some no. For those who have a "yes", does it really mean that there’s no scar left in the heart? Does it mean that the bond is still great deep within or just on the surface?

Let’s put apart those bad relationships. Let’s count the good ones. You have a very loving spouse who stay with you till the end of your life. You have a very close friend who is always with you no matter what happen till the day you leave.  You have a great brother or sister who supports you all the time till you say goodbye. What will happen to the "lasting/forever" the moment you say goodbye and walk away from them, the moment you leave? What will happen to the "everlasting" after the very last day of your life? Perhaps, it remains there in the people’s heart. How about the time when everyone related to you, everyone you know is gone? The memories in those people’s heart, will it still last even when those people are gone?

You can write everything down. You can even carve it on stones. Yet, trees will wither, and even after millions and billions of years later, the stone can turn into sand…Maybe… one day… Earth itself will also begone…
